Stretch Mark Treatments

Stretch mark treatments help to reduce and eliminate scars that cause an aesthetically unpleasant appearance on our body. Stretch marks, also known as striae, is a problem that causes visible deformations on the skin and often requires professional treatment. 

Stretch marks; It is the appearance that occurs as a result of damage to the elastin and collagen structures in the dermis layer of the skin and weakening of the bonds between the fibers. Stretch marks, which cause serious deterioration in the skin, can be purple, red or pink in color. Although it does not affect the person negatively in terms of health, it can be psychologically disturbing. Body stretch marks can usually be seen on the arms, legs, buttocks and abdomen. 

There may be many different reasons for the appearance of stretch marks. 

The main causes of stretch mark formation: 

• Growth (rapid change in the body’s muscle structure, volume, height, etc., especially during puberty), 
• Pregnancy 
• Weight gain and loss, excessive weight gain (obesity), 
• Exercises that allow the muscles to develop quickly, 
• Genetics, 
• Some diseases (Cushing’s syndrome, chronic liver diseases), 
• Some medications (birth control pills), 
• Do not use cortisone cream and/or pills for a long time,

• Methods used in the treatment of diseases such as HIV, AIDS, tuberculosis, typhoid are among the main causes. 

It aims to reduce the deformation of the skin with stretch mark treatments. It is not yet possible to completely eliminate the deformation caused by stretch marks and restore the skin. However, it can correct the skin color, reduce the depth and provide a smoother appearance.  

Different methods applied in stretch mark treatments are as follows: 

Fractional CO2 Laser 

Fractional co2 laser can be used for different skin problems. It is one of the effective methods used for stretch mark treatments. In the application, laser beams are sent under the skin to increase collagen and elastin production. Collagen provides skin renewal and healthy tissue production. In this way, healthy skin is provided instead of damaged skin. Fractional laser can also strengthen the connective tissue and tighten the skin. 

Radio frequency 

In radio frequency application, collagen production is stimulated by sending radio frequency waves to the cracked area. In this way, collagen production increases and the skin regenerates itself. Successful and effective results can be obtained with radio frequency application for stretch mark treatment. 

Dermatherapy 

In the dermatherapy application, canals are created on the cracked areas with the dermaroller device. Serum and stem cell extracts are also applied to increase collagen production and support skin renewal. 

Biological Serum Application (Platelet Rich Plasma) 

Biological Serum Application method is the process of taking the blood of the person, separating it and injecting it back into the body. In this way, the skin regenerates itself. This application can be more effective when combined with methods such as fractional laser. 

 However, medicines and creams can also be used for stretch mark treatments. Especially when used in combination with other methods, it can increase the success of the treatment.
